Old and New SDA Hymnal — mobile application

In plain language: the Old and New SDA Hymnal app does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information whatsoever. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. The app works entirely offline — it does not even request permission to use the internet. Your favorites and settings are stored only on your own device.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Android application Old and New SDA Hymnal (package com.ionicframework.sdanewandoldhymnal816673), published on Google Play by Rohan A. Smith - Exterbox ("we", "us"). It applies to no other app, product, or website.

2. Personal information we collect

None. We do not collect, request, receive, or store any personal or sensitive user data. Specifically, the app does not collect:

• Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any contact details
• Accounts or login credentials — the app has no sign-in of any kind
• Location or GPS data
• Contacts, calendar, photos, files, camera, or microphone data
• Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or IP addresses
• Usage analytics, behavioural data, crash reports, or diagnostics
• Financial or payment information — the app is free and sells nothing

Because no data is collected, there is no personal data for us to store, transmit, sell, share, or disclose to anyone, including third parties, advertisers, and data brokers.

3. Information stored on your device

So the app can remember your preferences between sessions, the following are saved in the app's private storage on your device only:

• Hymns you mark as favorites
• Hymn numbers you recently opened
• Your display settings — light or dark theme, and text size
• Your playback settings — chosen instrument sound, and chord display options

This information never leaves your device. It is not readable by us or by anyone else, it is not backed up to any server we control, and it is permanently removed when you uninstall the app or clear its data through your device settings.

4. Permissions

The app requests no Android permissions at all. It does not hold the INTERNET permission, which means the application is technically incapable of sending any information off your device. All 695 hymn tunes, all hymn texts from both hymnals, and all app content are bundled inside the app itself and work with no internet connection and no mobile data.

5. Links to other websites

The app contains a small number of optional links — a donation link, a link to sabbathprograms.com, and a link to the developer's social media page. These do nothing unless you deliberately tap them, at which point your device's own web browser opens and you leave the app. Once you do, this policy no longer applies, and the privacy policy of the site you visit governs that visit. We receive no information about whether you tapped a link or what you did afterwards.

6. Children's privacy

The app is a hymnal suitable for all ages and is safe for children. It collects no data from anyone, including children under 13, and contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, no chat, and no user-generated content.

7. Data sharing and sale

We do not share, sell, rent, or trade user data, because we do not collect any. No third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software is included in the app.

8. Data security

No user data is transmitted over any network by this app, so there is no transmission to intercept and no server-side database of user information that could be breached. Preferences stored on your device are protected by your device's own operating-system security and by Android's per-app private storage.

9. Your rights and choices

Since we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to provide, correct, export, or delete on request. You can remove everything the app has stored at any time by clearing the app's data or uninstalling it.
